Meet Our Founder
To provide education, support and an outlet for socialization to
women in the inner city of Memphis, Tennessee and the
surrounding areas who are living with breast cancer through. . .
Caring and Sharing. It is simply unacceptable for any woman to
suffer with this disease alone.
Our Hope for the Future
The Intercultural Cancer Council housed at Baylor College of Medicine selected
UHESS Founder Gwendolyn Brown to receive its 2014 Dorothy I. Height
Community Advocacy Award. The Award was given on March 26th at its regional
meeting in Memphis. The award is given to an outstanding individual who has
worked tirelessly with cancer survivors.
