Our Services
We are committed to making a difference with the women that we serve. As a result, we have developed a number of programs to meet your needs.
Support Group
Monthly sessions are held at easily accessible facilities within the inner city. Each one-hour group session provides:

* Education: Professionals present a variety of topics and engage members in stimulating discussions to increase knowledge about various aspects of breast cancer, from a medical and social perspective
* Support: Non-threatening, mutual, emotional support is offered while enjoying a healthy meal after each meeting
* Socialization: Time is allotted for members to relax and socialize before and after dining. Sub-groups have formed that meet aside from group sessions that provide fellowship for those without an outlet or formal support system
Community Outreach
* Educational Presentations: Information on breast cancer to the target community of under served African American women
* Pamper with a Purpose: A city wide program directed to educate younger African American women and treat them to a “pamper session” (manicures, massages, hand massages, make-overs), BSE training, lunch, and gifts
* Literature Distribution: Breast cancer educational materials are distributed to beauty and nail salons, churches, medical offices, senior centers, and mammography sites
* HOT PINK LINE: An information and referral phone line for the newly diagnosed, relapsed patients or survivors. This resource is maintained by a breast cancer survivor
A Carin’ Touch
* Services and monetary assistance after an assessment by a licensed clinical social worker to determine needs and the extent to which support from Carin’ and Sharin’ can be offered. Limited financial assistance may be offered up to the end of treatment
